Breaking new ground, Peoples of the Twilight brings together forty-two little-known drawings by European artists (Johann Baptist Wengler, Fredrika Bremer, Adolph Hoeffler, and Franz Holzlhuber), a daguerreotype, and color photographs of forty artifacts collected by European travelers to illustrate aspects of the lifeways of the Dakota, Ojibwe, and Winnebago peoples prior to the Indian Wars of 1862.
